How do Disney's Character Calls work?

It’s very simple to schedule a call:
1. Log in or register – registration is free.
2. Select a character and theme.
3. Select a special message and the child’s name. If the child’s name is not on the list, the character will use a generic greeting.
4. Tell us what your phone number is, and the time and day to call. Please note that calls cannot be placed to numbers in ID, WA, GA, KY, MS, NE, TN and LA. Calls can only be placed between the hours of 9am and 8pm.

Are there any restrictions?

You must be 18 years of age or older to schedule a call, must be a registered member of Disney Online, and must only enter a phone number that is registered to you. Calls may only be scheduled between the hours of 9am and 8pm. Open to residents of the United States only. Currently, calls are not available to residents of ID, WA, GA, KY, MS, NE, TN and LA.

How far in advance do I need to schedule the call?

Calls may be scheduled as much as1 week or as little as 15 minutes in advance of the desired time of receiving the call.

Is there a limit to the number of calls I can schedule?

Yes; there is a limit to 3 calls per phone number per week, and only one call may be scheduled at a time.

How much does it cost?

The call is free of charge. The only requirement is that you be a registered member of Disney Online.

How long will I have to answer the phone when the call comes in?

When your Character Call arrives, you will have 40 seconds from the time the phone is answered to initiate the call. You must PRESS ONE on your touch-tone phone to initiate the call. If the 40 second time limit is exceeded, the call will be terminated.

What happens if the call is missed?

If a call is missed, no rescheduling will occur; please schedule a new Character Call from this site. Some reasons that a call can't be completed are:

  • Busy; someone was on the phone at the same time we tried to send you the call.
  • No answer; no person answered the phone.
  • Rejected; the call was answered but no person pressed "1" to initiate the call.
  • Answering machine; an answering machine picked up the call and was not answered before it began recording.

    Will a live person call my child?

    No, all calls are pre-recorded.
