The USO
The Walt Disney Company is proud to be a USO World Sponsor, supporting outreach and marketing efforts on behalf of the USO and its programs. Disney is providing more than $1 million in financial aid and in-kind support for the USO. USODisney talent visited U.S. troops abroad in 2001, and the company has produced and featured a series of public service announcements focusing on how people can get involved. In addition, Disney has donated several thousand videos to military bases through the Red Cross and USO and will provide a combination of first-run movies and library classics for the troops. ESPN The Magazine has been distributed.

Disney's radio properties are also providing support to the U.S. troops by partnering with the Voice of America and the Army Broadcasting Service to provide the two agencies with recorded messages that will be heard by U.S. troops stationed around the world.

Drew Carey, former U.S. MarineDrew Carey, star of ABC-TV's The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway? and former U.S. Marine was part of the USO Deliver America Tour that visited troops in December of 2001 for the holidays. The first performer to go into the war zone in Afghanistan, Drew performed free shows, signed autographs and mingled with the troops. He has since returned to the area and participated in other USO tours visiting troops around the world. 2002 efforts include USO screenings of ESPN Original Entertainment's new film, The Junction Boys, in USO centers around the world. Screenings include gifts of magazines, stickers, posters, hats, and a special intro by the College GameDay crew.
