Marcellino Hernandez was a local New Orleans craftsman who specialized in
wrought iron during the late 1700's. A blacksmith and native of the Canary
Islands, Hernandez' exemplary work can be seen throughout the French Quarter.
He created the wrought iron balconies of the Orue-Pontalba House, as well
as many others.
