Speedway Walls & CeilingTo create the checkered border on the walls, start with the wall behind bed. Use a pencil to mark several spots across wall 20” from ceiling. On adjacent wall mark a spot 20”, 24” and 28” from ceiling on the right, center and left respectively. On each wall, tape a string at one end, overlay it horizontally across pencil marks to the other end of the wall then tape again. Using the string as a guide, mask with painter’s tape across walls. Paint top walls 100 ACRE SKY. Paint bottom walls THREE CHEERS FOR POOH. Let Dry. To create the checkered pattern, use the bottom line of the blue wall color as your guide. Mask off 3” above and below this to create a 6” wide border. Paint MAIN STREET LIGHTS. Let dry. Divide this section in half horizontally. In the top half, mask off evenly spaced rectangles and paint every other one GALAXY BLACK. Let dry. Repeat for bottom half.

Cozy Cone FloorPaint floor using BEHR PREMIUM PLUS® PORCH & FLOOR PAINT tinted to 100 ACRE TREES. Allow to dry completely. Paint baseboard and door frame SPACE SUIT. Let dry. Mark a smooth curved line from center of door to the center of the bed frame. Measure a roadway using width of door and centered line as your guides. Paint path on floor with BEHR PREMIUM PLUS® PORCH & FLOOR PAINT tinted to SPACE SUIT. Allow to dry completely. Measure several 3" by 8" stripes along center of roadway and leave a 2" space between each stripe. Paint stripes MICKEYS GLOVES. Let dry.

Lightning McQueen Dresser & NightstandPaint the nightstand THREE CHEERS FOR POOH. Paint the dresser GALAXY BLACK. Let both dry. Using cardboard, cut out the shape of a large flame. Trace template onto sides of dresser and nightstand with chalk. Paint GET GOOFY. Let dry. He’ll be cruisin’ low & slow in this V-8 “v-room.” We’ve swapped out a traditional dresser and nightstand for a roller cabinet and storage unit both available at The Home Depot. Small orange cones, clamp lights and other motor-themed accessories help define this unique garage. For added RPM, we’ve also hung colorful garage signs and used bedding and rugs featuring characters from Disney/Pixar’s animated feature CARS.
