A Self-Esteem Boost for Girls

Disney PrincessesLittle girls with dominant big brothers, such as my grandaughter, can get a huge self-esteem boost courtesy of Disney!

Last year at the age of 2½ Alexa had a makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland. The tousle-haired, tot, clad in shorts and t-shirt, went in. Sometime later, out came a beauty with her hair in an elegant up-do, with glam make-up and nails, costumed as Cinderella at the ball. Her six-year-old brother's jaw dropped and then he blurted out "You're NOT pretty." Her calm but assertive response was, "Yes I AM." For the rest of the day she literally floated through Disneyland regally accepting accolades from her loyal subjects.

Over the past year she is, of course, obsessed with the idea that she is a real Princess. However, she also is happier, more self assured, and no longer intimidated by her big brother. Many thanks, Fairy Godmothers!!!!
