Planning the Party

  1. The Invitation

For a proper princess party, your invitations should look like royal decrees: Simply roll up pretty stationary that contains all your party details and tie with colorful ribbons. Your preschooler can help decorate invites with these pretty Princess Stickers.

  2. Decorations, Playtime & Favors

Your little guests may initially be fooled by a fantastical faux version of Aurora's Birthday Cake. Made of cardboard, this pretend dessert is a must as your centerpiece. Still, your little ladies in waiting will want a real cake, too, and this Castle Cake will not disappoint. Of course, before dessert, a healthy lunch is your right as Queen of the proceedings. Set your table with a pretty arrangement of Veggie Flowers at each place setting. Young royals can use colorful, fresh ingredients to help decorate a tray of Tea Sandwiches -- and then enjoy their hard work for lunch!

  3. What to Serve

Before the party, crown the birthday girl properly with a craft-foam replica of Aurora's Crown. Depending on your time and skill as a crafter, you can also make crowns for all of your party guests, and then let them decorate their headpieces with gems and sequins. To keep partygoers entertained, try the Costume Change Challenge, which combines the whimsical fun of dress-up with the giggly pace of a relay race. Let teams of four to six kids each choose outfits from your dress-up chest. Make sure outfits all have the same number of pieces. Split the players on each team into two groups and locate them across the room from each other. Then, have players put the pieces on over their clothes, dash to a preselected destination, and transfer the clothes to the next player, who returns to the opposite side to switch clothes with the next player. The first team to put all its players into the princess garb wins. (This is also a great way to build preschoolers' fine and gross motor skills.) When the royal engagement winds to a close, send your guests home with sheets of Pretty Princess Stickers tucked in their goodie bags.
