Walt Disney Records:
Biography of Lee Roy Parnell

Grammy® Award nominee Lee Roy Parnell contributes a new version of "Someday," from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The native Texan is currently promoting his latest album, We All Get Lucky Sometimes -- the first to be released by Arista's sister label, Career Records.

Born in Abilene, Texas, Parnell grew up in nearby Stephenville, where his father, Roy Parnell, was a rancher and best friends with Texas swing pioneer Bob Wills. Parnell credits Wills's influence in his decision to pursue music, but his teenage years found him studiously delving into the work of artists ranging from the Allman Brothers to Muddy Waters and Freddie King.

Not only is Parnell a skillful singer and songwriter, his talents behind a guitar garnered him a Grammy® nomination for Best Country Instrumental for "Cat Walk." He recently cut guitar solos for Trisha Yearwood and Mary Chapin Carpenter -- both songs became chart-topping hits.
