Walt Disney Records:
Beauty and the Beast: A New Musical
The album features the original Broadway cast -- including Terrence Mann as the Beast, Susan Egan as Belle, Tom Bosley as Maurice, Beth Fowler as Mrs. Potts, and Gary Beach as Lumiere -- performing the Academy Award®-winning songs by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman. Additional tunes were written especially for the theatrical production, composed by Menken with lyrics by Tim Rice. Disney's limited-edition CD package also features a full-color, silk-screened compact disc, picturing a resplendent Belle and the Beast in full theatrical costume.
The Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical soundtrack album offers 23 music tracks and includes the familiar Beauty and the Beast film favorites: "Be Our Guest," "Gaston," "Beauty and the Beast," "Belle," "Something There," "Prologue (The Enchantress)," "The Mob Song," and "The Battle," plus the medley "Entr'acte/Wolf Chase" and reprises of "Belle," "Gaston," and "Beauty and the Beast." The album also includes the previously unreleased song "Human Again," originally written for the film by Ashman and Menken, but not included in its final score. In addition, Beauty and the Beast: The Broadway Musical features several songs by Menken and Tim Rice, written especially for the theatrical production: "No Matter What," "Me," "Home," "How Long Must This Go On?," "If I Can't Love Her," "Maison des Loon," and "Transformation," plus the medley "No Matter What (reprise)/Wolf Chase" and reprises of "Home" and "If I Can't Love Her."
