real-life inspiration was a small female black bear cub named
Winnipeg (Winnie) at the local zoo. Christopher Robin, son
of "Pooh" author A.A. Milne, loved the bear cub so much, he
renamed his teddy bear after her!

Heffalumps
are honey-hungry animals that look like elephants while
Woozles are another "monster" of the Hundred Acre Wood,
similar to Heffalumps.

Walt
Disney's daughters were big Pooh fans, inspiring their father
to buy the rights to the Pooh stories.

In 1993, the Walt Disney Company acknowledged that Pooh Bear
was second only to Mickey Mouse as Disney's most-loved and
trusted character. In 1996, after the second release of The
Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh,
Pooh pulled into first place.
