Jungle Book 2

Official Site

Disney’s The Jungle Book 2 adds an all-new animated chapter to one of the best-loved animated classics of all time. Mowgli now lives in the man village, and he loves his new family and friends, especially his feisty little step-brother Ranjan and his best pal Shanti, the girl who initially wooed Mowgli from the jungle. But Mowgli misses his buddy Baloo, who likewise pines for his little man-cub. Baloo isn't the only one hoping to see Mowgli again soon -- Shere Khan impatiently awaits his revenge. When Mowgli sneaks away to the jungle, the chase is on to see who will find Mowgli first -- his old pals, his new family, or the man-eating tiger. It’s an adventure packed with thrills, songs, and fun for the whole family. The film gets a musical boost from both a reprise of "The Bare Necessities" and Smash Mouth’s rousing rendition of "I Wan’na Be Like You" as well as new tunes like the show-stopping "W-I-L-D" and the swinging beat of "Jungle Rhythm."

101 Dalmatians II...Did You Know?

One of the biggest challenges animators faced was hand-drawing enough spots to cover all of the Dalmatians for an entire full-length film. “There are 99 puppies in the film, averaging a dozen spots each. That’s about 1,200 spots in each frame,” says co-writer, co-director Brian Smith. “Twenty-four frames per second – you do the math. I stopped counting at 10,000.”

To maintain the feel of the original 101 Dalmatians, made by Disney’s legendary “Nine Old Men,” the animators created complex backgrounds that are “kind of line work over a painting. There’s a great deal of texture, and a sort of density to the layouts and backgrounds,” says co-writer, co-director Jim Kammerud.

British youth Bobby Lockwood makes his acting debut as the voice of Patch. The filmmakers cast Bobby after conducting an extensive search for the voice of their “lead puppy.”

Renowned techno group Apollo Four Forty wrote and performed the song “One Of A Kind” for the film.
