The film follows the comedic and eventful journeys of two fish -- Marlin and his son, Nemo -- who become separated in the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo is unexpectedly taken from home and thrust into a fish tank in a dentist’s office overlooking Sydney Harbor. Buoyed by the companionship of a friendly but forgetful fish named Dory, the overly cautious father embarks on a dangerous trek and finds himself the unlikely hero of an epic journey to rescue his son -- who hatches a few daring plans of his own to return safely home. Written and directed by Oscar® nominee Andrew Stanton, co-director of the 1998 Disney/Pixar hit A Bug’s Life and co-screenwriter for all four Disney/Pixar features, Finding Nemo sets a new “high-water mark” for the art and technology of computer animation with its incredible underwater world populated with memorable characters. 		Computer imaging was used in the film and was crucial to the “W-I-L-D” sequence, which features nearly 100 different animals singing and dancing as they march up a towering ruin.

		Filmmakers spent innumerable hours studying the original film, using it as their model for animating the sequel.

		The band Smash Mouth does a rendition of the Sherman Brothers’ “I Wanna Be Like You” for the film’s end credits.

		Filmmakers extensively researched real-life tigers to capture the calculated moves of the predatory Shere Khan and make him even more menacing and threatening in The Jungle Book 2.
