In Long Beach, California, the Aquarium of the Pacific is having an Earth Day Celebration which will celebrate the Ocean Planet.

Take part in Phoenix, Arizona’s Canyon Echoes: Poetry for Earth Day on Friday, April 21, 2007 at 7:30pm. The event is being held at the Desert Song Yoga and Massage Center.

In Seattle, WA, volunteers are gathering together for “Duwamish Alive”. On April 21, 2007 from 10am - 2pm, community groups will work to restore habitat at the Duwamish River in Seattle by planting trees, removing invasive weeds, restoring shorelines and collecting garbage.

If you are in or around Philadelphia, PA on Earth Day, stop by the Earth Day Sidewalk Celebration. The event includes information tables and booths, environmental mascots, and other outreach activities including the talking "Bug Mobile" and giant Madagascar Cockroaches!

In downtown Dallas, Texas, EarthFest 2007 is taking place between 10:00am and 2:00pm on Friday, April 20. Attendees will get a chance to learn about environmentally friendly gardening plants and techniques, recycling, drinking water, transportation options, air pollution, and much more. Local musicians and food vendors will also be present for this exciting celebration.

On April 22, in Humboldt Park in Chicago, IL, Earth Day Activities are happening all day long from 8am – 2pm. Activities include a park cleanup project for youth, Chicago mayor tree planting ceremony, large concentration of booths and exhibits by businesses and non-profits, and EPA exhibit of emergency response vehicles.

In Shawnee, Kansas, Earth Fest 2007 will be happening on April 22nd. The celebration will include games and crafts, interactive hands-on activities for kids, and environmental information.

In Orange county, Florida, there will be an Annual Earth Day celebration at Silver River that will include vendors, storytellers, slide shows, and a guided bird walk. In Riverside Park in Oviedo join the Earth Day under the Oaks event for music, exhibits, food and fun!

Around the Globe!

Earth Day events are happening all over the globe. Check out what different countries around the world are doing to celebrate! Use these ideas as inspiration to get involved or to start your very own event!

In Osaka, Japan, people are gathering for a festival with live music and activities for the environment.

In India, over 1,000 kids pledge their commitment to saving the planet. The India Habitat Center held painting and quiz competitions with environmental themes and people from all over held a rally with messages to conserve nature. A Children’s Bicycle Rally is held as well to promote and support clean air commuting.

School children in Kenya plant trees in the endangered Karura forest, near Nairobi, to help save the forest from illegal wood poaching. April 21st has also become Kenya’s National Tree Planting Day.

A parade is held in Australia to support the protection of the world’s largest stretch of mallee (semi-dry habitat) wilderness. To promote a "car-less" day, the car-free streets of Sydney become the site of an Earth Day festival complete with music, theater, & educational exhibits.

China created a stamp to celebrate Earth Day and the planet.

In Hong Kong, Jiminy Cricket, SpokesCricket for Disney’s Environmentality™, will be visiting Hong Kong Disneyland to greet Guests.
