Grand Prize

Teacher Prize: $6,000 award

  • An expenses-paid trip to the 2013 National Science Teachers
    Association Conference, in San Antonio, Texas: April 11-14, 2013.
  • 1-year NSTA membership
  • Customized teacher gift and certificate of recognition

Class / School Prize: $10,000 Grant

The winning classroom will receive a $10,000 grant to continue the work of the DPC project. The grant will be under the direction of the teacher and comply with all school/district fiduciary and program regulations.

Walt Disney World Resort

The winning teacher and students will receive an expenses-paid ( please see rules and regulations for details ) 3 night/4day trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort in April of 2012 and will be recognized in a ceremony dedicated to their project among many other memorable experiences!

Who will get to attend the trip to Walt Disney World Resort?

  • The Winning Teacher
  • Each student from the winning classroom
  • The principal
  • 1 chaperone for every (4) students (teacher and principal not required to chaperone)

Can family attend?

Yes, but they will only be able to attend the recognition ceremony. Family members will need to cover all associated travel costs and Disney will provide one park ticket for up to (2) parents and (2) siblings of each winner.

In addition:

  • The class and its winning project may be featured on the Disney Channel
  • A Disney concert for the winning classroom and their entire school
  • Each student will receive a Disney prize pack including items such as:
    • Reusable lunch kit (bag, bottle, etc.)
    • DVD's
    • And more...
State Finalist

Up to 51 classrooms (1 per each state & DC)
will receive:

  • $1,000.00 award for the teacher
  • Customized teacher gift and certificate of recognition
  • Each student will receive a Disney prize pack including items such as:
    • Reusable lunch kit (bag, bottle, etc.)
    • DVD's
    • And more...

All Other Projects will receive:

  • Customized teacher gift and certificate of recognition
  • Each student will receive a certificate of recognition
Second Place ($9,000)

Teacher Prize: $4,000 award

  • 1-year NSTA membership
  • Customized teacher gift and certificate of recognition

Class prize: $2,000 award

  • Each student will receive a Disney prize pack including items such as:
    • Reusable lunch kit (bag, bottle, etc.)

Third Place ($7,000)

Teacher Prize: $3,000 award
