See celebrity look-alikes along the thoroughfare while limousines park curbside waiting to whisk the latest Hollywood star off to the set. Amid soundstages and klieg lights, it's all glitter and glitz in this district that takes a tongue-in-cheek view of the motion picture industry in California's most well known city, Hollywood.
Stretching two blocks, the DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE version of Hollywood Boulevard features building facades that actually mirror classic structures in the real Hollywood, such as the famous Max Factor building, with attention to detail provided by a Hollywood set designer. The architecture not only represents the glory days of the world famous city but also incorporates its history into the fabric of the design. Strolling along the famous street, guests will encounter shops, restaurants and attractions that are all uniquely Hollywood-oriented.
The ABC Soap Opera Bistro, a restaurant that showcases the television network's most famous daytime stars, occupies a prominent building along the Boulevard. Stop in for lunch and catch up on recaps of the latest crisis in television drama featured on TV screens located throughout the restaurant or check in with a host or hostess, all up-to-speed on the latest dramatic developments. Adjacent to the restaurant is the ABC Soap Link, a souvenir shop featuring soap opera memorabilia.
Directly across the street from the ABC Soap Opera Bistro is "Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3D™," a hilarious cinematic romp with Henson's famous cast of lovable characters. Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and a half dozen other wild and crazy Muppets star in the film while Muppet hecklers Statler and Waldorf are seated in the theater balcony harassing as usual. Spectacular 3D effects and in-your-face surprises are featured in the film that showcases a Muppet salute to the art of moviemaking. Outside the Muppet*Vision 3D Theater is "Rizzo's Prop & Pawn Shop," an irreverent retail location stocked with wacky product indicative of the Muppets sense of humor.
Disney's most treasured art form is celebrated at Disney Animation, a beautifully-designed Hollywood Boulevard art deco Pavilion that houses a behind-the-scenes exploration of animation Disney-style. Guests have the opportunity to sneak preview Disney works-in-progress through early story sketches and pencil animation to finished color art and completed animated scenes. The Animation Pavilion also contains a number of shows, exhibits and demonstrations for guests to participate in and enjoy including hands-on activities, play stations and themed environments that provide an insider's look into the world of Disney Animation. Inside the Animation Screening Room, "Back to Neverland," a film journey narrated by Walter Cronkite and starring Robin Williams takes guests through the entire feature animation process.
At the far end of Hollywood Boulevard stands the Hyperion Theater, the ultimate theatrical showcase that pays tribute in style and size to the grand Hollywood movie houses of yesteryear. Designed as true performance palace, the Hyperion Theater seats 2,000 in a gloriously opulent setting. The Hyperion Theater will play host to a variety of live entertainment spectaculars.
Located in Hollywood Pictures Backlot is Superstar Limo, a wacky wild ride through the star-studded streets of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and beyond. Aboard a chauffeured limo ride vehicle, they are whisked through cartoon renditions of Rodeo Drive, Malibu, Beverly Hills, the Sunset Strip and other legendary Hollywood locations.
