ANDREW SUTTON IS EXECUTIVE CHEF FOR NAPA ROSE RESTAURANT IN DISNEY'S GRAND CALIFORNIAN HOTELSM

Noted culinary star Andrew Sutton is chef for the Napa Rose, the premier restaurant in the new Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. The 751-room luxury property officially opens February 8, 2001, as part of a major expansion of the DISNEYLAND® Resort.

"Andrew is the perfect match to lead the Napa Rose, as he was recruited from the Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley to be the restaurant's culinary visionary," said Tony Bruno, general manager of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. Sutton's cuisine celebrates the bounty and heritage of California -- inspired by its rich seacoast, farms, ranches, and artisans -- and is presented in a refined manner. "With his innovative techniques and wealth of experience at award-winning properties, he has the passion and expertise to create menus that capture the diverse flavors of California."

Prior to joining Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, Sutton spent seven years as executive chef at the Ivy Award-winning Auberge du Soleil. This was after five years with Dean Fearing at the Five-Star, Five-Diamond award-winning Mansion on Turtle Creek in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. Prior to his association with Turtle Creek, he also received valuable experience at two of Dallas' most luxurious hotels, the Hotel Crescent Court and the Registry. In all, he has more than 20 years of culinary experience. In addition to his practical training, Sutton is a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, as well as having completed a classical French apprenticeship.

Napa Rose is decorated in the rich style of the Arts and Crafts movement, following the design theme of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. Serving lunch and dinner, the 237-seat restaurant features a display kitchen and a 78-seat lounge. Guests throughout the restaurant can look out through floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a dramatic view of nearby Grizzly Peak.

Design touches include the use of light-colored wood, 20-foot-high vaulted ceilings, a romantic fire pit, a private dining room with a fireplace, and a showcase wine cellar that holds 600 vintages. Also prominent is a "Wall of Fame" with magnums of premium California wines, available for purchase, that have been signed by California's winemakers. Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, located within DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE™, celebrates the turn-of-the-century Californian Craftsman movement. Designed to capture the spirit of the elegant artistic exploration of California's inspirational coastlines, Monterey pines, and redwood forests, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel is layered with the memories of the Arroyo craftsmen, the mission pioneers, the Plein Air school of painters, and daring architecture.
