In Atlantis: Milo’s Return, team Atlantis ventures back to the Earth’s surface to investigate troubles that seem to be Atlantean in origin -- including a huge sea monster that’s sinking ships in the North Atlantic and an eerie wind that’s blowing ghost-like dust coyotes across the plains of the southwestern United States.

The film stays true to the design concepts of the popular comic book artist Mike Mignola, favoring a flat, graphic, and layered style of animation.

The new adventures allowed filmmakers to expand upon the outstanding cast of animated characters from the original movie by putting them in new situations and allowing their diverse, funny, and dramatic personalities to be shared in greater depth.

The mystery of Atlantis dates back thousands of years. The philosopher Plato was the first person to use the term “Atlantis,” and according to his account, the island nation existed over 11,000 years ago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and was populated by a powerful and noble race.
