Disney/ABC Cable Testimonials
Working in-house certainly has its benefits. This summer at DC Business and Legal Affairs, I had an opportunity to work with a group of seasoned entertainment attorneys on a wide range of projects. On the cable affiliate side, I delved into DC's efforts to launch Toon and SoapNet and the Network's ever evolving relationship with media giants Time-Warner and AT&T. On the programming side, I worked on contracts and researched various intellectual property issues such as internet rights and fair use and parody.

During my summer internship, I have enjoyed working with the Creative Services department at Disney/ABC Cable Networks. Being part of the team has been a worthwhile, enriching experience. While learning the structure of the department, I was involved in both designing and testing a new categorizing program. What is nice about being here is that I received hands-on experience and have been included in all the meetings, projects and events.

My internship in the Traffic/Engineering & Operations Department of Disney/ABC Cable Networks couldn't have come at a better time. When I arrived, Toon Disney was non-commercial based. During my internship, I helped upgrade the computer records to accommodate the new commercial formats. My experience at Disney/ABC Cable Networks has helped me apply what I learned in school by giving me the opportunity to observe the operations of a network and the process it takes to go from a brainstorming session for a new program to the final product seen on television sets across the country. One of the most valuable aspects of the internship is the opportunity to network with people in the industry.

I was so impressed, that on my first week of the Internship program at Disney/ABC Cable Networks, I was assigned to test programs and to write manuals for training purposes for the future users of applications. That tells me a lot about the great deal of confidence that Disney Channel put in us as interns.

Working at Disney Channel, has allowed me to participate in all facets of the Information Technology Department. I have worked with numerous employees, trying to improve our customer service at the I.T. help desk. In addition, I have gained a working knowledge on web based applications, by making our Intranet site. I have learned a great deal and want to thank the whole I.T. Department for giving me this chance.
