Disney/ABC Cable Testimonials
I have had an amazing experience working for Disney/ABC Cable Networks. I learn something new every day. I work with a team of four and each person has taught me so many things that I will be able to use in the future. Disney/ABC has such a friendly environment. There are so many people willing to meet with me and answer my questions about their careers. I was invited to sit in on meetings that were not even for my department. I would recommend this job to anyone looking for a fun and interesting job!

I joined Disney Channel for the challenge and experience it would afford me in my career. Clearly, the reputation of Disney impressed me -- but what really made the difference was all the people I met and spoke with as I went through my interview process. My hiring experience was extremely positive -- it allowed me to learn more about the company, the top-notch networking opportunities available, the challenging projects I could expect to work on and the teamwork culture of Disney Channel. But most of all, the hiring process was a great experience in meeting my future co-workers, finding out about their skills and interest and gaining a sense of how I would be a great "match" for the Marketing Research team. Why else would you not want to work here, it's DISNEY!

I was integrated very rapidly into the week by week functions of my department (alternative programming), and I also felt really welcome among the other interns. My favorite responsibility has been prepping for the weekly video approval meeting. At first I simply prepared the news and lyrics packets, but was slowly given reign over setting the order of the meetings and writing and distributing minutes. I even had the privilege of running the meeting one week when both of my mentors were unable to attend. In terms of my own professional growth, DC has exceeded my wildest hopes. I've been trusted enough to represent DC in dealing with various artists and record labels, allowing me to make some really cool contacts and learn firsthand how artist promotion works. This is indicative of the Disney Channel intern experience: we're brought in not as grunt labor, but rather as potentially valuable professionals, whose opinions and talents are rapidly incorporated into the mélange that is Disney. The work is great, the experience is invaluable, and the perks are too good to be believed.

A 24 Hour Cable Network such as The Disney Channel is a team effort. Having the opportunity to be apart of this team is both a technically and ethically enriching experience. Understanding how a billion dollar television facility operates, changes and continuously reinvents itself has rewarded me with more knowledge and experience than any school can provide. I have done everything from the initial design to the physical installation and troubleshooting of on-air and post production equipment. I'm having fun, I'm learning and I'm part of the team that is making Disney/ABC Cable Networks viewable in millions of homes nationwide.

As an Undergraduate Associate with Disney/ABC Cable Networks' Regional Chicago office this past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to learn firsthand the art of marketing and advertising, Disney style. I gained extensive experience and knowledge about the rapidly expanding cable and communications world. A well-rounded internship, I was mentored and guided by an office staff of nine, who were constantly teaching me and always willing to provide direction. Entrusted with tasks such as creating marketing mail-outs for cable affiliates, generating inside reports, and dealing directly with clients, this was by no means your typical internship. I also had the opportunity to assist with special events such as PremEARs in the Park and meet incredible Disney talent including the band BBMak. Working at Disney this summer has taught me valuable skills for any marketing or sales jobs I might pursue in the future.
