Disneyland, Walt Disney World and all of Disney's theme parks and entertainment venues around the world are symbols of American good will, enterprise and creativity. On September 11th our resort cast members provided all our guests who could not return home with the services they needed to be as comfortable as possible, including accommodations, food and communication support.

  • Disney resorts provided accommodations to guests who were unable to leave and suspended phone charges so they could call loved ones.
  • At Disneyland Resort, food and beverage stations were opened at no charge for guests who were at the Park on the 11th. AMC Theaters at Downtown Disney showed free Disney films for stranded Resort guests.
  • The ESPN Zones in New York, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. distributed more than 3,000 meals, plus bottled water and clothing, to emergency workers and police officers in their respective areas. Staff donated personal clothing in addition to the clothing provided by the retail stores. The ESPN Zone Anaheim served complimentary beverages and provided free game play for guests unable to leave the Disneyland Resort.
  • On Sunday, September 23rd The Walt Disney Company conducted ceremonies to return to full staff the American flags which had flown at half-staff at Disneyland, Walt Disney World and everywhere else on our properties. At Disneyland, fifty white doves were released while the flag was raised. The flag raisings, which followed the directive of President Bush, were symbolic acts to show that all Americans are ready to march ahead while remembering those whose steps have been halted.
