TWDC Employees Respond to American Tragedy

"I have been very pleased with, but not at all surprised by, the extraordinary outpouring on the part of Disney Cast Members to aid in the relief effort. This display of selflessness and compassion is what I have come to expect from the people who are the heart and soul of this Company. On that terrible Tuesday, we vividly and painfully saw the worst of mankind. Since then, throughout our Company and across America, we have seen the very best."

Michael Eisner, Chairman & CEO
The Walt Disney Company

Michael Eisner and Bob Iger

"This is a time of great tragedy in our nation, and as a member of the larger community, we at The Walt Disney Company felt an obligation to assist our fellow citizens in any way we were able. The unselfish acts of our Cast Members and the DisneyHAND: Survivor Relief Fund are indicative of our continuing desire to offer assistance in this time of need.

Bob Iger, President and COO
The Walt Disney Company

On September 14th, the national Day of Prayer and Remembrance, Michael Eisner and Bob Iger addressed several thousand Disney cast members gathered around the flag at the Burbank studio.

Our sincerest condolences to all those who have lost family and friends in this terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of both Marianne MacFarlane of the Disney Store, Boston, and Donald DiFranco of WABC-TV, who perished in the terrorist attacks of September 11th.

Our sincerest condolences to all those who have lost family and friends in this terrible tragedy.
