Q: When should I make my Disney Vacation Club Resort reservations?
A: Your booking window gives you up to 11 months in advance of your check-out date at your Home Resort, and 7 months in advance of your check-out date at all other Disney Vacation Club Resorts. Please keep in mind: Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so make your reservations as far in advance as possible. Give yourself some flexibility, and keep alternate dates and accommodations in mind.

Q: The Member Services phones can be quite busy. Are there other ways for me to make my vacation reservations?

Q: Can I make requests via fax and email?
A: Yes, you can. You can use the Member Services fax and email to:

  • Bank Vacation Points

Q: Are there some requests that should not be sent by fax or email?
A: Yes, there are. Fax and email are not suited for:

  • Member Getaways options such as exchanges, cruises, safaris, etc., which require you to have more of a dialogue with Member Services
  • Priority seating requests for any dining reservations at the Walt Disney World® Resort
  • Airline and car rental reservations
  • Credit card transactions

Q: What impact would late payments have on my reservations,
or my ability to use Vacation Points?

A: Late payments could impact your ability to make reservations, and to bank and borrow Vacation Points. Any payment that is overdue, including but not limited to annual dues, loans (if applicable), Member Getaways transaction fees, and balances from Disney Vacation Club Resort stays, prohibits banking and borrowing of Vacation Points.

In addition, being more than 90 days past due on your annual dues will cause a suspension of all activities, including the cancellation of any existing reservations. So take note—to make the best use of your Membership, be sure to keep your account up-to-date!

Q: What do my annual dues pay for?
A: Your dues are put toward a number of vital interests, including:

  • Operating expenses, like housekeeping, transportation (if applicable), front-desk services, maintenance, utilities, and more
  • Administrative expenses, like management and reservation services, insurance, taxes, some Member mailings, and more
  • Refurbishment expenses, like updating and maintaining interiors, exteriors, common areas, and more.

In short, your annual dues help keep Disney Vacation Club running smoothly—and Disney Vacation Club Resorts looking great!

Q: When are my annual dues due and how will I know how much to pay?
A: Annual dues are due January 15. They are calculated based on the calendar year, not your Use Year. The amount you pay in annual dues is determined by your ownership interest. You will receive a proposed budget every year for the following year, and an annual dues statement will be mailed to you after the annual condominium meetings and before the end of the year. Payment may be made either in one lump sum, or in monthly installments—a very popular option for our Members. (The monthly payment option is only available on a direct debit basis from a U.S. bank account.)

Q: Is there any way to secure travel insurance for my trip?
A: Yes. TRAVEL GUARD® International has designed a travel insurance package for Disney Vacation Club Members. For more information, call (866) 690-6858 and give them reference ID#007004. Members calling from outside the U.S. please call collect at (715) 345-0505.

Q: How is room availability determined at Disney Vacation Club Resorts?
A: Member inventory consists of Vacation Homes associated with ownership interests purchased by Members and declared into the resort's condominium association. These are the Vacation Homes that Members can reserve using their Vacation Points. Once all Member inventory at a resort is reserved, availability closes to Vacation Points reservations. See undeclared inventory for additional information.

Q: What can I do if there is no availability when I call to make my reservations?
A: You have two options. First, have alternate dates, resorts, and accommodations in mind. This way you have a better chance of securing your plans right away. Second, if you must secure a specific date and/or accommodation, you may consider being placed on the wait list. Visit wait list, for additional details. Keep in mind, though, there is no guarantee your wait list request will become available, so do have an alternate plan just in case.

Q: Is there a penalty for changing a confirmed reservation?
A: There may be some restrictions. For example, if you change or cancel a confirmed reservation at a Disney Vacation Club Resort 1–30 days before your arrival date, your Vacation Points will be placed in a Holding Account, which may limit future flexibility. Visit Changing or Cancelling Your Reservations for additional details. The best rule: Plan ahead. The earlier you contact us with your revised schedule, the more opportunity we have to accommodate you.

Q: What's the easiest way to understand the Vacation Points system?
A: Actually—once you get to know it—the Vacation Points system is really quite easy to follow. Vacation Points represent your ownership interest in a Disney Vacation Club Resort. You can use them, you can bank them, and you can borrow them. Vacation Points give you the greatest possible flexibility, and help you plan the vacation that's just right for you. So read more about this innovative system, and enjoy the freedom Vacation Points allow.

Q: How does my Use Year affect my banking schedule?
A: Your banking schedule is based on a specific timetable, which begins with the first month of your Use Year. Your Use Year—assigned when you purchased an ownership interest—is listed on your purchase agreement, deed, and Member card. You receive an annual allotment of Vacation Points at the start of each Use Year to be used during that Use Year. Once you have decided when, if, and how you plan to use your Vacation Points, contact Member Services to bank your remaining eligible Vacation Points for use next year. The sooner you contact us with your banking decision, the more flexibility you'll have, and the more Vacation Points you'll be able to bank into the next Use Year! Visit Banking Vacation Points for additional information, including banking deadlines associated with your specific Use Year.

Q: Why can't I book and travel on a Member Getaways vacation in the last 60 days of my Use Year?
A: Disney Vacation Club converts your Vacation Points into rental inventory to pay for your Member Getaways vacation. We have learned that inventory submitted within the last 60 days of a Use Year is difficult to fill, so we have no guarantee of recouping the costs. For additional information, visit Member Getaways.

Q: How many Vacation Points can I borrow?
A: You have the ability to borrow up to 100% of your allotted Vacation Points from your next Use Year into your current Use Year. Visit Borrowing Vacation Points for additional information.

Q: We're enjoying our Disney Vacation Club Membership so much, we'd like to add on to our Membership. Is that possible?
A: Absolutely. Your Vacation Club Guide will be glad to answer any questions you might have, and will walk you through the process of purchasing an additional ownership interest. There is a minimum of 25 Vacation Points for cash purchases, and 50 Vacation Points for financed purchases.
